* Each Booker T. Washington Society Ambassador Scholar will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to further their post high-school (college, trade or vocational) education along with a trip to Washington DC with one parent (or a mentor) to join the Society's "Celebrate BTW 151" conference on April.12-15.
The Society's annual 'Celebrate BTW' conference is held to honor the 1856 birth of a great American, Dr. Booker T. Washington. Ambassador Scholars and their parent/mentors meet and learn from notable speakers at luncheons, dinners and panel discussions and enjoy special treats: a visit to The AA Soldiers of the Civil War Museum and a dinner and private evening tour of the Mt. Vernon home of George Washington (whom the Society acknowledges as, "that other great American named Washington").
