Our Story - How we started Ron Court was browsing on the 'Net in 2005 and landed on a page that mentioned BTW's April 1856 birthdate. Ron realized that the following April (2006) would be Booker T's 150th. He googled for a Sesquicentennial celebration announcement, but was disappointed to find none. Soon thereafter, he met Reginald Jones, who had just delivered a speech on "Race, Capitalism and Entrepreneurship" at a nearby college. Their mutual respect for Dr. Washington's vision and values compelled them to decide to 'do something' to honor him. Booker T's enduring philosophy is that all people can lead literate, considerate and productive lives if they choose to be of good character, get a good education and focus on the good opportunities before them. Reggie and Ron formed the BTW Society to bring this message to one and all, regardless of circumstance or color. Without the encouragement and invaluable advice of those noted below, the Society might not have been formed. Our sincere thanks to each and every one of you.
